There Are Headlights In The Fog Poem by Mark Heathcote

There Are Headlights In The Fog

There are headlights in the fog
With a beating heart and a desire
Hoping to find you
before you grow too old to realise,
know there's always a path
of light, back even if you doubt
there's-a-rescue, I promise you
we'll be throwing more wood on the fire
we'll never give up on you
even in this meaningless labyrinth night
There are headlights in the fog
we'll never give up on rescuing you
whatever the sacrifice
our belief will always be higher
than the fire or the smoke
There are headlights in the fog
That never relinquish, never go out
No matter how lost you are from the path
There's a rainbow, a drying tear.
With a green path, a path full of shattering dew, a rainbow.
Turning to a laughter that essentially will always find you.
