There Are People

There are people
No one adores

There are people
Who wait at doors

There are people
Who sleep in heavy downpours

There are people
Who have been beat to the floors

There are people
That everyone ignores

There are people
Who don’t sleep indoors

There are people
Who grew up with no mentors

There are people
Who always stay outdoors

There are people
Who get caught in the middle of uproars

What would you do
If this life was yours?

Poem of the Day

poet Helen Hunt Jackson

The month of carnival of all the year,
When Nature lets the wild earth go its way,
And spend whole seasons on a single day.
The spring-time holds her white and purple dear;
