There Forever (A Sonnet) Poem by Munia Khan

There Forever (A Sonnet)

If we can leave this world without being dead
What miracles should we attain on earth?
Heart will die before the soul, mind and head
If we can slay our own pleasure of mirth
As though we are alive but not living
If we’re living dead –is this world the grave?
Where we should rest in peace without grieving
But there peace is what we still need to crave
The torches of lives are extinguished
By the furies when we’re loving hearted
Spirits still fight not to be vanquished
And we all are dead but not departed
Life can be dead and life can stay alive
But the soul is there forever to strive.
