There Is No Home There Poem by Richard Netherland Cook

There Is No Home There

There is no home there, there is no sound.
And no greeting as before,
Only echoes of silence hang around,
For she is gone for evermore.

There is no voice that once would be,
Filled with love and quiet praise,
Only silence there now greets me.
And haunts my fading days.

No more family gathers there,
And hope and love cannot restore,
Where joy and laughter once filled the air,
For she is gone for evermore.

Others now, do fill the space,
My Mother once tended with love and care,
For me it is an empty place
There is no home there.
