There Was A Flute Poem by Emmanuel George Cefai

There Was A Flute

There was a flute
But
High up in the skies
The heavens
Resound it
In the cold desert
Stretching
Stretching
With distant snow-capped
Mountains:
The desert stretched
Blue and mysterious
And
Flared the musicians
Airy
And lithe
In the wild desert
In the air
The heavens
And then
Then
Lights went up
And down
Flickered
And the desert
Was as a desert of
A million flutes
And more
All playing
Playing simultaneously.
Playing.
