Mommy! Daddy!
There was a monster in my room!
Oh! but sadly,
He disappeared with a boom!
He had red glowing eyes!
and the heart of a shrew!
He told so many lies!
He said the sky was green, not blue!
His fur was all messy!
And his claws were all sharp!
But he Dressed all dressy!
And he Played me his harp!
He danced this way and that!
He went a-rattat-tat-SMACK!
Right on his big round belly
That jiggled like jelly!
He was horrible!
He was TERRIBLE!
But he only comes after nine,
and I'm sound asleep, every time!
