They Are Not Mine Poem by Jonathan Goldman a.k.a JGthepoet

They Are Not Mine

I write the words HE tells me to,
They are not mine ~ you see,
For the LORD puts them into my head,
To communicate them to thee.

I go to bed when daybreak dawns,
I hear birdsong in the air,
Each song they sing reminds me
That YOU LORD ~ are always there.

But, I do not need reminding,
I know YOU look after me,
Each day, each night, awake, asleep,
My comforter ~ YOU will be.

My ink does flow, the words do come,
As line by line I write
Poems in rhyme and scan,
By day and also by night.

Today is the anniversary of my Maternal Grandma’s birth,
A date I shall always remember,
Taken from this world many years ago,
Thoughts of her daily do linger.
