Thinking of Simpler Times

Thinking of simpler times
Of tempos, and beats, and rymes
Of peace and love and things
Before there were tyrants or kings

Thinking of simpler times
Before there was hate and crimes
My thoughts on you above
Remembering my one true love

Thinking of simpler times
Of a pulse that quickens and climbs
Of dancing, and joy, and laughter
With Him my friend and master

Thinking of simpler times
Of silence-the age of mimes
When there wasn't need for words
Understanding before we had heard

Thinking of simpler times
When a cadence in us entwines

Thinking of Simpler time
Adoring Him with our hearts and minds

Thinking of simpler times
Oh, I'm thinking of simpler times

Poem of the Day

poet Dante Gabriel Rossetti

A little while a little love
The hour yet bears for thee and me
Who have not drawn the veil to see
If still our heaven be lit above.
Thou merely, at the day's last sigh,
