Thirsting To Represent Evil Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Thirsting To Represent Evil

Hypocrisy!
With it lived to defend it.
Sends only one message.
Lies, alibis and excuses to make,
Should not offend anyone.
As long as this is done,
By those who claim themselves 'Christians'.
Those who quote scriptures.
And declare their devotion.
With undying faith.
Today this hypocrisy,
Has created division, bigotry and hate.
Leaving many in positions,
Depending more on a forgiveness to get.
Done to do and expect accepted,
If God is used as if a tool to abuse.
With them to relieve themselves,
Of the sorrows and grief...
Purposely done to inflict each week.
On others to say,
"If God can forgive what I have done to you.
Why can you not forgive me too? ! "

-Well,
Many live their lives,
Not proving they can be...
Better hypocrites to admit this.
To then pack churches,
Like addicts addicted to a habit.
With this to perceive,
God will provide the fix.
As long as they are willing,
To confess to a routine of sins...
On a daily basis committed.
And awake each Sunday to do this.-

"But...
That's not God-like."

-You are right.
And I am not one to give advice.
But it seems to me,
You either need to find another church.
Or find another way to worship.
And display your faith,
That is less focused...
On doing misdeeds to others to do.
Not to prove this to me,
But to yourself...first.
Without thirsting to represent evil.
In places where this is taught.-
