This Coronavirus Is Not The Plague Poem by Shalom Freedman

This Coronavirus Is Not The Plague

This coronavirus is not the plague
The plague is far more horrible
The plague does not forget the children
Nor does it deal in a kinder way with the middle aged
The plague does not let any escape with mild symptoms
Nor can social distance save from the fleas and the lice
The hidden invaders
The plague is more painful for most
Buboes and swollen ganglia burning
Unconscious writhing and sweating
At one stage no strong immune system can overcome
The plague kills more and more cruelly
The coronavirus takes the lives of its mostly already sick elderly slowly
The plague kills almost everyone touched by it
A greater horror is poor consolation for a smaller one
Humanity has seen much worse than it is seeing now
It will survive and thrive again

COMMENTS OF THE POEM

The plague is far more horrible. Corona virus is more dangerous than this. The virus has threatened the entire world and the world is crying today. We should be more aware about and take preventive measures. We should maintain social distancing and we should develop life. An amazing poem is brilliantly penned that provokes thought but brings awareness.
