This Morning (Persian Quatrain) Poem by Gert Strydom

This Morning (Persian Quatrain)

Early this morning it was not yet six o'clock
when you returned to me, did my heart unlock,
and your small footsteps ran right through it
while the night fled for the crowing of a cock.
