This poem is for the reader
I never replied to
The polite considerate friendly kind reader
I am in my own lonely standoffishness
Did not answer-
I ask your forgiveness
As I believe I have asked it before-
Some people never seem to learn
And I certainly seem to be one of them-
Sorry again-
And if you write poetry
I hope you find encouragement and strength
From those with the patience and consideration
To answer you
As I have not.

In these shattering days when words are used to slander and insults fly like jagged kites all over this country, so very nice to find this personal, soft touch that takes into consideration others and really has such a caring and gentle touch.
