Though They May Say So Poem by Amitava Sur

Though They May Say So

As they say -
Once who leaves this soil being soiled with dust,
Disliking to digest further strife ahead
Doesn't come back again for sure.
Quite naturally they all may say so,
While I myself doubt it to be true.

Though, now I don't see you my loved
Nor the shadow of yours,
But I witness the mystic you
In the dead of night or at any time I intend.

May be you live in a distant star now
Might be some light years' away!
But by this time, I learnt to reach you in moments only,
Can feel the warmth too, we cherished once.

The love what was once sown in between
And nurturing that in growing from seed to a tree,
It's deep roots did clasp me so strong all around me -
In no way I can free myself even till date.

Neither you nor any shadow may be seen nowadays,
But that silhouette in mist portraying you
Still waves those endearing hands against morning dew filled rays
Or else against the cool full moon's silky silvery beam.
