A Drop On A Lotus Leaf

A water bead on lotus leaf -
Shimmering with a glow
But up to that time only
As long is on the leaf.

With a little jerk or a shake
It rolls down and ends.

This life is like that only
As a drop on a lotus leaf
Priceless is our human life
But very mortal and short lived.

With a little quiver or a tweak
It shatters and then breaks.
Very short lived and uncertain
Like the dew on the grass tips.

To extract the beauty of life
So long you are alive -

Love all with love and peace -
Love flower bird and child.
Spread out the treasure of love
To the saints, demons and the beasts.

Enjoy the life without harming others
Live and let live.
Who knows when the heart will stop
Even at your height of success!

Life is like water drops
Wobbling on lotus leaf.
Short lived and uncertain
Like the dew on the grass tips.

As others have said this is a Beautiful Poem Mr Sur, it was filled with amazing depth of thought and imagery that waxes with the philosophical,
This life is like that only
As a drop on a lotus leaf
    Priceless is our human life
But very mortal and short lived.

some of my favourite lines ever written, thank you for this (Report) Reply

    CONGRATULATIONS ! ! !

touching the 100 is exciting for all, and especially when those 100 works are taken as valuable too, greetings for that...! ! !

    THE POEM

the image of a water bead on lotus leaf –is visual in its own right and very craftily used for the short and jerky span of life, so uncertain...the quotable lines are:
Enjoy the life without harming others
    Live and let live.
Who knows when the heart will stop
Even when at your height of success....

many thanks for all the kind comments you generously pass on the poems of all poets and specially on my raw work...whatever confidence i have got is just because of the honest critical comments i receive...
    regards,

Congratulations, Amitava on your 100th poem. Love how you compare life's mortality to a bead
of water on a lotus leaf. Life is that precious, as I already know, and love how gently and genuinely
you portray it's essence in this poem. Great one again, Amitava! ! Give you 10 - 10's! ! Keep writing
Amitava, I will continue reading. RoseAnn (Report) Reply

Congratulations, Amitava on your winning the maiden century...! ! This is a wonderful write on the transitoriness of human existence! The glossy, quivering droplet of water on a lotus leaf can flop down anytime and break..... So is human life....! A life that is precious and short lived at the same time cannot be wasted in moans and sighs... It has to be lived fully to our benefit and others benefit too! Enjoyed the poem and the message it carries! ! (Report) Reply

Congratulations on reaching this milestone, of presenting the 100th poem to this august forum. Well done!
This is a beautiful poem signifying transience of life and the importance of sharing it with all with love and peace.
    'Life is like water drops
    Wobbling on lotus leaf.
    Short lived and uncertain
Like the dew on the grass tips.' - An absolute truth, a timely reminder.
Wishing you many more feathers on your cap. (Report) Reply
