Thoughts (At Night) Poem by Milica Franchi De Luri

Thoughts (At Night)

Rating: 3.5

The sun has set
the day has gone
In the night ahead
you will be alone.
But you have your thoughts
and they have their rots;
worry, pain fear,
projecting
tragedy could be near.
Night after night
you ask the same questions.
Night after night
You are turning stones
looking for answers.
The answer you look for
it s not within you.
It is written in the wind
in fragments
it is scattered across the world.
You pick up pieces
that don't fit the puzzle,
You chase illusions
get comforted by delusions of your mind
Hoping,
dreaming
the impossible dream,
possible it seems.
So until tomorrow
when you will be faced with the same sorrow
surrender your thoughts
to the silence of the night,
close your wiry eyes
and think of everything you are willing to sacrifice
