Thoughts Of A Supporter. Poem by Lex Cullen

Thoughts Of A Supporter.

Broken down, lookin over the edge.
Livin on a thin line, legs dangling off the ledge.
Though never jumpin we pledge.
Wolves that get in our heads.
Shreddin what is held up only by threads.
Locking it deep before it shreds.
Unable to hang on much longer.
Can't become that monster.
Nobody would notice the imposter.
Pushing for our own neglect.
A race to be picture perfect.
Maybe it's a drug takin effect.
Keeping up a facade.
Can't let them see that we're flawed.
Don't mistaken it for fraud.
No room to be weak.
As life grows increasingly bleak.
But what is it we seek.
For everyone looks to us.
Come around only when they need to discuss.
Because naturally we're that truss.
