Through Florid Eyes Poem by David Castaneto

Through Florid Eyes

Strike me with your fibrous fists, I have no fear,

Rage like a menacing bull, please don't come near,

Heart is a sizzling fire, fueled by rage and revulsion,

Isolated and neglected, your wrath is an explosion,

Everybody's petrified, horrified, terror-stricken like they've seen an incorporeal bein',

I stand high, look you at your florid eyes,

Bam! my cheeks scream from the pain, turn pale and gray, can't believe what I'm seein',

Everybody's fleein', weak knees, arms are heavy, still I rise,

Even though I hear their cries, I hear yours a million times louder,

As I look at your florid eyes, you smile, your about to become a father.
