Time's Duty To Mankind Poem by Imaobong Akan

Time's Duty To Mankind

Rating: 4.5

Time, the pregnant one
Friend to all, listening to none
Giving birth to all mortals’ desire
Be they fair or dire.

Time the impartial one,
Shaking hands with all but none
Giving favour and reward to the worthy.
Taking more time from those who worry.

Time the impatient one,
Waiting, stopping, and pitying none.
Taking from old and giving to the young
Taking the old age wit to aid and guide the young.

Time the blameless one,
Blamed by all, but receiving none.
Giving harvest according to the sown seeds
Sharing worthily according to human deeds.
