To Be Poem by Anil Nair

To Be

Rating: 5.0

When it rains heavily, I find myself sweating to death
When I walk in the desert, the chilling breeze takes my breath away
To be at my self is what I have struggled to be..
But he is the one that I have never met in a long while
When I open my eyes, he gazes through them
He listens to all the music from outside
And the noises from inside
The deeds that I do are not what he would.
When they gaze at me they see me but not him.
The words I speak are mine but not his.
For he has stopped speaking for me, quite a long while ago
Silence is his lethal weapon, he likes to keep for me
Or is it that he is no more at life.
Had he left leaving just the silence for me.
To be at my self is what I am struggling to be.
