To Hell & Back? I Don'T Think So! Poem by Luke Easter

Whoa! Be weary of those who say, “I’ve been to hell & back, ”
Because no matter how intense the situation where you’re at,
Difficult, stressful, seemingly unbearable pain or super scary,
No one, I mean no one returns from hell because it’s stationary.

All are familiar with parables well; here is a present day riddle,
Not the beginning or end of the journey it’s called? The Middle!
And that is exactly where most everyone is at right now in flight,
Smack dab between the starting & finishing line, in a faith fight.

Went to my doctors appointment this morning seeking good news,
Worst than this time last year & if I had a guitar Id sing the blues,
However, I left her office quoting many bible-healing scriptures,
The devil is a liar; I will not adjust my confession to this picture.

Not the diagnosis I hoped and prayed for according to the word,
Speaking, listening to positive the only thing allowed to be heard,
Even distanced myself from doubters plus those who disbelieve,
The blessings, the promises, I have to, I have to, I have to receive.

What’s going on, have I done something wrong, what is the deal?
Looking in the Book of Isaiah 53: 5 “by His stripes we are healed, ”
That is so true relax don’t get upset, part of the promise is the wait,
And believers as stated in 2nd Corinthians 5: 7, “we walk by faith.”

The second & equally important part of that verse is, “not by sight, ”
Since the evil one has sown interference it’s not going to look right,
Proverbs 29: 18, “where there is no vision” why say what it seems 2B?
Don’t think of hell; inject thoughts of healing, prosperity and victory.

Disappointed with their findings? On your face you cannot let it show,
Remember, Doctors only practice medicine but God’s word you know,
The ER, appointments, therapy, to and from the local pharmacy you go,
Your best friend’s Chiropractor but “To Hell & Back? I don’t think so! ”
