To The Reformed Heart Poem by Iman Sadikeen

To The Reformed Heart

Found you were from the darkness
Bright as a new star from the blackness of space
A beautiful heart, hidden under all that evil masquerade
still it could not smother your nobler self
I see you braver than one soldier battling in field
In war you were with yourself, and chose the light
Awed I am at your courage to give up those darkest deeds
and embrace the goodness in you whole
when it was easier living there in the evil hole!
In my eyes your greatness stands out of all
for now do I strongly believe,
every saint has a past and
every sinner has a future indeed!

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
