Here I stand on tombstones and ashes.
Watch how the sky lights up, as if it was forth of July.
Side by side with brothers of arms, standing on tombstones and ashes.
We wonder if our savior will come, and if he will be wearing black.
Here we stand on tombstones and ashes, fighting a cause no longer known to us.
Tombstones and ashes, we fade now like dust, ghost's of the past forever lost.
wonderful poem. nicely penned with significant imagary. I want to read your works more and more....10++++
Interesting. I see that the repetition of the phrase of tombstones and ashes is purposeful, but I don't necessarily like it. Without asymmetrical rhymes and the line used so frequently, there is not much substance to the poem.
A great write with wonderful imagery and very well written Gary!
