Treading On Memories Poem by Mehri Mehraban

Treading On Memories

Like all ordinary nights
the moon's shining through window
and, the sky sparkling with brilliant stars
The night's freezing cold with your absence
I'm treading on memories,
burning them
A phoenix arises in ashes
The bird splits my chest
and perches on my heart
Like all ordinary nights
