Tristwch Poem by Christopher Teale

Tristwch

All is split apart in thunderous
sudden wave of pure emotion.
After work so long and strenuous,
such a sudden wrecking motion.

Let me go, oh muse of sorrow!
Oh tears of another, made in me.
Sadness I so freely borrow
lend it not, yourself so free!

Where from? This sudden spasm!
Why so brutally intense?
Between the world and me a chasm
bridged only in this verse
