True Friend Poem by Dipankar Sadhukhan

True Friend

Rating: 5.0

It's a strange thing
That works in me every time.
I can never avoid it.
Like the shadow of afternoon
It follows me every second.

At solitary noon of summer,
In the silent evening of winter,
At autumn dawn drenched with dew,
In the fragrant afternoon of spring
It talks to me in wordless words.

In the morn, at noon, in the afternoon, at night-
Every time I try to find it out.
In the mirror of my eyes it can't be visible
But I can easily feel its presence
In the corridor of my mind, in the cell of my heart.

This miraculous power protects me
From the heat of summer, from the cold in winter.
At a moonless night in the sky of my heart
Like the full moon it shines my heart and said,
' Don't sleep, work with heart; I'm always with you.'

In the evening it falls asleep and at night it wakes
And this true friend also awakes me at midnight.
Being the owner of dream it says to me,
' It's the time to create something new.'
Then I begin to soar in the joyful sky of creativity.'
