True Love Poem by Jessica Bunnell

True Love

Rating: 5.0

A girl and a boy,
They were the best of friends.
Elementary to high school,
Beginning to end.

Through the years,
The closeness grew.
Both felt alike,
But never knew.

Every instant,
From the time they met
They loved each other-
Sunup to sunset.

He was all she possessed
In her awful life.
He was the only one
Keeping her away from her knife.

She was his guardian angel,
She could make him smile.
When life tested him,
She made it worthwhile.

One day,
It all started to go dreadfully wrong.
The days that followed
Seemed like a very sad song.

He thought to make her envious,
He purposely tried.
When she asked him, “Do you love her? ”
He purposely lied.

He played with jealousy
Like it was a game.
Little did he know,
Things would never be the same.

His plan was working
But he had no clue-
How wrong things would go,
The damage he would do.

One night she broke down,
Feeling very alone.
Just her and her blade-
No one else was at home.

She dialed his number,
He answered, “Hello? ”
She told him she loved him
And hung up the phone.

He raced to her house,
Just a minute too late.
Found her lying in blood-
Her heart had no rate.

Beside her was a note
And in it a confession.
Her love for this boy,
Her only obsession.

As he read the note,
He knelt down and cried.
Grabbed for her knife-
That night they both died.

She was found in his arms,
Both of them dead.
Under her note,
His handwriting said:

“I loved her so,
I just never knew…
All of this time,
She loved me too.”
