Tryst Poem by Philip Geoffrey Lock

Tryst

Breath of whisper, haunt of light
In softer shadows breezes stilled
Distance thins enraptured night
Yearnings lost of aspect filled
Flame awakes, undaunted, bright
To love, to hope, to drink, to yield

Deep to deep in beauty's call
A touch within to longing's sigh
Spirit climbs to Spirit fall
Silent joy in unseen eyes
Waves and breakers cover all
I rise, I break, I heal, I die

Fallacy fades from crimson cage
On spinel shores with lies bereft
Scarlet drops drown piper's rage
His bruises bled till love is left
With soul unmaking I am made
In life, in truth, in faith, in death
