Two Hearts - Poem by M A Uzefa Rashida

Two hearts
I waited for you dear,
for you to come near.
I waited for you long,
for you to sing a song.
What maketh you so dull?
What maketh you to cry?
Why don't you come to me,
to share with me my joy?
I often wondered why,
You never ever smile,
What makes you shed a tear?
What is that you fear?
Weakened is your heart,
burdened with your sorrow.
Could you lend me some
if I would like to borrow?

You waited for me dear,
I too wanted to be near,
I want to sing a song,
but don't know what I long.
I do, feel your joy
your joy makes me cry,
my sorrows may lessen your cheer
that is what I fear.
I do want to smile,
When my loved ones are near
but always shed my tear
when a brilliant laugh I hear.
Strengthened is my heart
unburdened are my sorrows,
your little words of love
has made the distance narrow.

Come to me my love
Hold my hands in yours
for I want to enjoy the moment
forever being yours.

Poet's Notes about The Poem

Here I would like to show how hearts get connected.A true heart recognises the pain of another heart and makes an attempt in breaking the ice. Sorrows if shared makes life easy to live. So a true loving heart finds a true loving and longing companion.

Beautiful poetry. Love is not just two hearts getting to know each other, it is they share the happiness, the pain of one another. Very fluent rhyming words, bringing forth the true mood of the poem. Good. And thank you for sharing. Do keep writing.

One suggestion: 04th line in the second stanza could be corrected as:
but don't know what for I long.
It makes the line grammatically correct on one part. It give the correct meter to the line too. Pl forgive me if I am trying to correct an English professor!

I like this, especially these lines:
    Weakened is your heart,
    burdened with your sorrow.
    Could you lend me some
if I would like to borrow?

What a great thought, borrowing someone else's sorrow in order to lessen his or her burden.

A beautiful painting of two hearts in love but refraining in striping with each other. A difficult moment but once this moment is passed and window is opened in the hearts, fresh air of true love comes in the room and suffocation is gone. Life starts smiling. (Report) Reply
