Unconditional Love Poem by beautiful imperfection

Unconditional Love

Nails in His hands.
Thorns on His brow.
Blood in the sand.
Wondering how.

These are things I think of
When people ask me what I believe.
Jesus Christ crucified,
A promise he’d never leave.

A love so great.
A heart so pure.
Incapable of hate,
Dying He endured.

These things amaze me
About the man in whom I believe.
He’s unconditionally loving,
I know He’d never deceive.

He’s my comfort,
And my security,
I just don’t understand
Why He’d be a part of me.

To give up His life
To save enemies and friends,
Is a wondrous display
Of how His love never ends.
