Two Stories, One Truth Poem by beautiful imperfection

Two Stories, One Truth

I didn't believe her,
and I didn't believe you,
I didn't take sides,
cuz I'm friends with both of you.
She would tell me stuff you said,
but then you would deny
everything she said;
but it was all a lie.
How could you do this to her?
Say such hurtful things?
Make her cry
and choke her with your strings?
I know she broke your heart,
that's not an easy thing,
but you don't have to respond
by being so mean.
She may have hurt you,
but you dont need to get revenge,
turn to drugs,
or drink and binge.
Please just leave her alone,
put the past behind you
Have a heart,
forgive her too.
Doing these things can only
get you so far,
you can't spend your whole life,
living in a bar.
So please, I'm begging you,
forgive her and move on,
the past is an important part
of your life song.
