Unloved Poem by Snow Summers

Unloved

An abyss of lifeless hair
cascades down my bended back
Too tired to fight the tears
And so my resolves going slack
I’m a pair of unrelenting feet
left striding off the track
The goosebumps on my skin
proof of the warmth that I now lack

Cracks form in my lips as I
plead with him above
Asking to erase this plague,
the viral sting of love
If anyone has ever felt
as unwell as I do,
I give my two cents and say
I bet that they knew

It isn’t heartbreak,
to love with all your might until nothing else remains
It’s something else entirely
To watch your hopes go swirling down the drain
To be unloved

A semblance of pain is plastered
on my excuse for a face
As my hands are reaching out
for someone’s heart, I can never trace
I’m not brokenhearted,
for that implies a being lives in here
God has stuck me in this body
so I can manifest my fear

Cracks form in my soul as I
curse at him way above
For I look into his eyes
and seen not one stitch of love
If anyone has ever felt
as disconsolate as I do
I give the nothing that I have
and swear they knew

It isn’t heartbreak
as I convulse from waves of stinging pain
Its something entirely
To watch your hopes go swirling down the drain
To go unloved

Its not unrequited love
its manslaughter at best
its purposeful and cruel
watch you open my chest

Its not unrequited love
What you do every day
Killing off another part of me
with every game you play
And now I’m done.
I’ve got not a cell
for you to ruin.

It isn’t heartbreak,
to love with all your might until nothing else remains
It’s something else entirely
To watch your hopes go swirling down the drain
To be unloved
