Unrequited Poem by Krystle Gallegos

Unrequited

My hand meets yours,
Beautiful words are exchanged.
But it doesn't mean anything,
It doesn't mean a thing.
I'd sacrifice my life,
I have sacrificed so much.
But what's the use
When you can't give her up.
I know she's a friend,
Well I have friends, too.
But I have them all up,
Out of respect for you.
You say she means nothing,
It's me that you love.
But actions speak louder than words,
So you're words are not enough.
My love for you remains unchanged,
Remains the same.
But I don't know how much longer
I can keep up with this game.
I'll try my best not to knock her flat,
Her immaturity and disgust just make me laugh.
Apparently you still love her,
I can see it in your eyes.
So don't get upset about jon,
I don't want to see you cry.
My heart is all yours,
But you've hurt me too much.
All because you loved another,
Because you could not give her up.
