Unsure Poem by Becky Schulz

Unsure

Am I good enough?
Do we see the same, do we feel the same?
I feel that it could be
But we both have to make it work
Will you sacrifice for me,
Or would you stay quiet?
I wanted to speak with you today
But you did not ask me.
I had something to say,
But it doesn’t matter now.
I feel like I give
But that you give less.
I feel like I drown
But you just wait.
I feel tomorrow’s whispers
But you wait for them to come.
I feel a suffocating loneliness
But you make it go away.
I feel that you will save me
But not without effort.
I feel that I mean something to you
But I’m addicted to you.
Time won’t pause for us.
Time won’t help.
Shadows play on broken dreams
And words collide with silent eyes.
Beautiful eyes.
They mean so much,
They are so lovely,
But what about the owner?
She doesn’t matter now.
She will be there tomorrow.
