Unwordly Wishes Poem by Kelsi Pope

Unwordly Wishes

Maybe there's a world out there,
far beyond the horizon.
A place where everyone cares.
Where everyone loves you,
for who you are.
Not because of your clothing,
your amount of money,
or your bodily looks.

If there were such a world
What would our world do?
Would we all abandon ship? Just to be somewhere
'better'?
Would we be naive enough
to believe in such promising ideas?

How could everyone believe in this?
Believe that a world defines its people.
Instead the other way around.
Why is it so much easier to runaway,
than to face our problems head on?
Why must we all be afraid of
what makes us stronger?

Is it that we're all scared of a challenge?
Or because we can't handle the strenght.
