'Utterly Mine' Poem by NiQi Deveaux

'Utterly Mine'

You remind me of the one I left
When I came to this place
Which quickly wiped the smile right off
My newborn silky face

I forgot it all just when I cried
With my first painful breath
Aware with each sunrise I greet
You're missing from my chest

Where are you now? Hello! Hello!
A voice comes back to me
It's an echoe though, I know, I know
Just my own, again, I breath

Another of those painful sighs
That carry my sundering heart
Into the great unknown it goes
Like apples in a cart

I'm caught just like a crow who's seen
A diamond sparkling bright
Obsessed and grasping for lost memories
Turning days to dreary nights

On the finger of a promise that
The stardust made us born
Spread across the universe so vast
Awake now and forlorn

To wander the earth a whisper
Torn apart not knowing the truth
That soul mates compromised all relationships
Desiring all to be made new

Cause the one that's linked forever more
Wandering too through space and time
Is the only one, really, that I know I can call
Forever.... Utterly..... 'mine'

Ownership, got a Deed or Title? or magic un-ending symbiosis? too many rules often get in the way nice thoughts and words
