Vacant Heart Poem by Becky Schulz

Vacant Heart

Nobody can know this pain I bear
As I watch the couple walk together
He closes his eyes
And kisses her forehead.
The words come across:
You mean the world to me.
I turn away; my eyes burn with tears
My heart is vacant;
I have nobody with which to share the world.
