Vision Through A Tree Poem by Rik Bertrand

Vision Through A Tree

I was saddened by overwhelming thoughts today,
I took a walk to find a quiet place where I could pray.
This world is full of wonders, right before our eyes,
What I saw changed my faith, and I forgot all the lies.

I hurt so much down deep inside, my heart needs to heal
The lord’s words keep coming down, but I don’t know what to feel.
The pain never leaves my side, my soul has been tormented
Yet what I see before me now, says the lord has desended.

Lord thank you for this vision, this beauty, this face.
Thank you for your passion for the whole human race.
I came here to pray for forgiveness and for salvation,
You came here to let me know that we are your creation.

I see you there through the trees, and this vision is so true.
You sacrificed your life you did what you had to do.
And we the people, the human race, must completely understand
No matter how bad life gets, you still have the upper hand.

I smiled a little smile for you, and you smiled right back.
You made my life of sadness fall through all the little cracks.
When I feel down, and I need support, I think of you through the tree
And when I do, my spirit flows and I feel ohhh so free.
