Wake Me Up When Poem by Marilyn White

Wake Me Up When

Its December the months
In between can just leave alone
Because I don’t want to be lonely
Here in my world that never stops
Wanting more but can’t handle
What I have something not real
I want reality to be my dream
And dream my reality that way
Everyone can see what goes on in my head
When no one is around they can read
These thoughtless thoughts
That I write out, out loud
For one day this world can see
What I feel about it as I live it
But this December I was going
To get my promise made into something
So maybe I wouldn’t be so frozen inside
The warmth of your heart will thaw me
Just wake me up when it is over
