Walking Home In The Dark On A Cold Christmas Eve We Sing Life On Mars As We Pass The Graveyard. Poem by Dónall Dempsey

Walking Home In The Dark On A Cold Christmas Eve We Sing Life On Mars As We Pass The Graveyard.

“You know...
as carbon based bipeds go

...you’re
ok! ”

“No! (Ok! Ok!)
more than ok..ok? ”

You smile
at me

(so down to earth)

as if I were
from another planet

then
without warning

you attack me
with kisses

against which
I am powerless.

Defenceless.

You invade
my senses.

I do
the only thing
I can do

(in the circumstances)

surrender

(unconditionally)

to you.

You kiss & kiss
me

(out of this
world)

I close my eyes

see stars

stars

so many

stars.

Such sweet surrender...I just know you had to FORCE yourself to give in..right? ? And that ending...for you CAN see stars from lying on your back...and for other reasons as well..right? Loved this...and the audience were idiots not to appreciate it more! !
