Walking In Circles Poem by Joshua Miller

Walking In Circles

Muscle through life in a rush when new
Not stopping to notice the hurt that you do
Subtle glancing blows so slight
you don't see the damage
Until one carves deep lik a knife
The reality you see, the cuts you feel
The heart is broken, the scar is real

You try to make up for the pain
You try and bow to the guilt
You try and you ultimately fail
You are left with nothing built

By now you see that the love is we
What matters is clear
The path is with fear
The baggage is heavy you try to let go
The scars are to deep the hurt still glows

To lower ones defense
To surrender ones heart
To open to love
time was no part

We look for warmth
We look for soul
To shake from a lovers kiss
An exhale to warm the cold

Then you realize time past
You took to long
You woke up to late
Time short you fear the end
To love is a gift do not pretend

I look still, I look hard
My lesson learned, yet now apart
Everyday I search for her to show
For the one to restart my heart to grow

Time is short and I fear to real
I have enough time to enjoy and feel
I search still for my heart to fill
For my love to show
For my scars to heal
