War Poem by Joe Ray

War

War

An argument, a protest, a fight for what seems right, leads two sides to battle, what a horrible sight.

First words, then shouts, followed by anger and force, the threat of war will leave nothing but sadness, regret and remorse.

Pride will divide the two sides from reason and to speak against the decision will be classed, as an act of treason.

The two sides collide with passion and fury, and death will become both judge and jury.

When the good of mankind is lost, evil shall prevail, with a better understanding we could have been saved from this hell.

The ones who fought are now dead; there lives have been stolen, for what they believed in, a cause to which they were beholden.

Politicians apologise for unforgivable loss, the blood on their hands they can never wash.

Why must mankind keep everything so sore, instead an effort should be made to avoid the act of war?

To listen, understand, and share reasonable thought, even when there may be differences between us, we must evolve new lessons so that they can be successfully taught.

Mankind must progress as a single community, with a commitment to peace, harmony and continuity.
