Was it really love?

Was it really love?
Yes, I firmly believed
it was just a natural blow
we were to be separated and go away s miles away
and I stayed at this end
reasonable distance
to take any chance

She remained in memory
making me sorry
to go deep into the past
and last for hours together

I smelt a rose
and was a distant lover
I smelt her fragrance
and really felt her presence

nothing to speak about our closeness
it always brought a smile on the face
now also I burst into laughter
and extend my hand to her

such was her lovely gesture
we were sure
our union was last long
but something went wrong

Love has shined more
making us feel no sore
rather enjoy the lovely memory
and carry it till life ends
