Water's Edge Poem by Emmanuel George Cefai

Water's Edge

From the water's edge
I saw the tepid skies
That frowned….
There was tin and lead
And niter
Here
Not nobility except
In the feeling of the
Sad
Not nobility except
In the transformation to
Subconscious
Being in such solitude…
On the deserted beach
Where the dark grey black
Pebbles rattle
Enfolded by the arms of
The dark bay of cement
Arms:
From the water's edge
From the water's edge…

The
shingles
The
pebbles
be
slippery
to
walk
on
a
righteous
flower
wild
on
the
beach
from
amidst
the
pebbles
dark
arose
arose….

From the water's edge
I saw the tepid skies
That frowned….
There was tin and lead
And niter
Here
Not nobility except
In the feeling of the
Sad
Not nobility except
In the transformation to
Subconscious
Being in such solitude…
On the deserted beach
Where the dark grey black
Pebbles rattle
Enfolded by the arms of
The dark bay of cement
Arms:
From the water's edge
From the water's edge…
