It’s fall, we’ll pick our bulbs.
We’ll plant them now.
They’ll poke their heads in the spring
After the freeze under the snow.
A tulip for you I”ll cherish.
A daffodil for me would be nice.
A lily for you with my love.
A hyacinth for me and a wish.
Flower by flower our garden will grow
With a thousand windows of a new day’s view.
Petal by petal our joys will unfold
Of the many colors, bloom by bloom, we’ll pursue.
We’ll plant a new garden, finer than this,
and you’ll see it, and you’ll understand,
and deep joy, gentle joy will sink
into your soul, like the evening sun.*
