We Never Knew Poem by Mehta Hasmukh Amathaal

We Never Knew

Rating: 5.0

We never knew of tomorrow's fate
As response has come very late
Yet we have met and submerged
Under the water to be purged

I saw it often in your eyes
Couldn't control despite earnest tries
There was commitment and no lies
The fancy did the job and in fact flies

Why was I so desperate for strong union?
What all I had tried for best companion?
Neither I tried to know nor found an answer
But surely there remained rainy shower

It reminded me of cold feeling
That had remained of its own and willing
It lacked warmth and longed for some company
Even though door was knocked previously by so many

Sometimes wind came from east
Sometimes it made me to sink from west
But it was in fact of you that made me struck
As if beautiful flower needed gentle pluck

I believe in nature's invitation
Early morning reminds me upon its inhalation
Fresh air must replace inner dirt
Life too must fill in with craftsman's art

The fragrance from no where made me insane
I found you in thick forest through window pane
You were there waiting for me to come
I rushed in without wait for welcome

Oh God what an intense love with expression!
Not a word for reunion and confession
It was for joy and melting emotions
To become one with full notions

I don't want to suffer anymore
I surrendered in earnest therefore
She may be now with me forever
I shall venture on ship with her
