Western Passage Poem by Manonton Dalan

Western Passage

rays following us up winding road
sometimes hidden by mother load
squeaks, grinding wheels forward
slowly reaching peak; mighty hard
green covered mountaintops; beauty
grass nibbling cows are now at play

crashing waterfalls from up a cliff
rainbow on mist floating; a zenith
lone hawk spread her wings above
searching needs she has to have
rabbits scramble to crevices beneath
as i hold calmly my breathe to ease
