what do you do when your world turns dark and grey
one moment the earth shifts and nothing is the same
the truth is unveiled and you can't turn away
your stomach aches and your soul screams
the tears on your face go unnoticed
because your breath has left and your heart has stopped
your eyes refuse to focus and your mind is cloudy
but not cloudy enough to block out the pain
and the pain... this pain....
every moment stretched out and laid ahead,
each seems as unbearable as the next is sure to be,
no bruise or blood or broken bone could rival this pain
its so deep, no drug, drink or vice can reach it
it threatens to consume,
and you pray it will consume
because death would be release, relief.
