What Is Freedom

What is freedom?
In a dictionary, it can mean many things
To a philosopher, perhaps more

To me, it is not the allowance of anything
It is not the obstruction being moved
But rather, no obstruction being present

It is not the rule being lifted
But rather no rule being there in the first place
We are free to breathe air, until we drown in constricting water

So, by whose definition would you define freedom?
Yours or theirs?

I am the only being whose doom
No tongue would ask no eye would mourn
I never caused a thought of gloom
A smile of joy since I was born

In secret pleasure - secret tears
