What Is Hoped To Be Accomplished Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

What Is Hoped To Be Accomplished

What is it hoped to be accomplished.
When one confronts another.
To confess and tell the truth.
About telling lies,
On others to deny.
Knowing they knew,
What they intended to do.
With it done to admit,
Truth, lies and the use of excuses...
Has never for them,
Been shown to make any difference.
And why should they,
Not feel offended.
Or pretend to express remorse.

What is it hoped to be accomplished.
From someone to question,
What it is they did to do.
Knowing their lies to tell.
Had never been true.
When they had been taught,
All of their lives to learn...
Truth is as useless to them.
As an honesty to not have witnessed it.
