What Me Worry?

Alfred E. passed this way
Living a carefree day.
No internet or cell phones
Interrupted him. He was alone.

Ignoring worries unknown
For in a flash, he'd be gone.
Nuclear energy crept into view
With mass destruction as its due.

And Alfred E. Newman (of Mad's fame)
Drifted along in life's wake; a shame.
Destiny was in the hands of a shiny one
Whose eyes wandered on, and on.

For AEN, cared not what was in store,
For there would be no Nuclear War.

(And we taught kids to hide under desk at school in the event of a nuclear attack.)
